Superannuation
Superannuation is a tax-effective investment vehicle. The maximum rate of tax you pay on your earnings in your super fund is 15% and you’re not charged tax on withdrawals from super once you turn 60. In comparison earnings on your normal savings outside super are taxed at your marginal tax rate, which can be anywhere up to 46.5%.
While you can shift your super between super funds, contributions to super are almost always compulsorily preserved. This means that you generally can’t withdraw the funds until you are over 55 (increasing to age 60 if you were born after 1 July 1964) and meet a condition of release.
Many superannuation funds also offer access to products such as life and trauma insurance, offering you protection today using money that may not be otherwise available to you for some time. It is generally desirable to incorporate superannuation into your wealth creation strategy, and we strongly advise that you consult an accountant and financial advisor as to how superannuation may best be utilised as part of your investment strategy.
Rebate Financial Services can offer you access to most of the major commercial superannuation providers. Because of our no advice model, we are able to offer you access at lower cost than most other providers and, subject to some conditions, will provide you with cash rebates 3 times per year.
If you currently have a superannuation account with a commercial provider then simply nominate Rebate Financial Services as your advisor/broker using the form provided below. Once you send us the form there will be no fees on your contributions and any trailing commissions generated will start being paid to us and, subject to your account generating at least $20 per month, we will rebate you 50% of the amount, in three instalments.
