MLC

Rebate Financial Services offers you the lowest cost way of accessing MLC products, be they new or existing. How do we do this?

MLC charges up to 5% on contributions to its managed funds and superanuation products. We can either cancel this charge or rebate it to you in cash. Most products also contain a trailing commission, which is either kept by MLC or paid to a financial advisor. In most cases we will rebate 50% of this payment back to you.

The process is simple, quick and easy, best of all it does not affect your current investment/policy in any way and will not cost you a cent. However, it could save you $000's. Read the "How Rebates Work" page to find out more. 

Existing investors - We rebate 100% of entry fees on all future investments, contributions and regular savings plans. Further, Rebate Financial Services will pay you cash rebates equivalent to 50% of trailing commissions received, where we are paid over $20 per month. It is a 2 minute process, simply nominate Rebate Financial Services as your investment broker, using our one page nomination form.

New Investors – The same rebate policy applies. Either download the Product Disclosure Statement (PDS) for your chosen investment product, fill it out and mail it to Rebate Financial Services or, alternatively, send us your details and we will send you a stamped PDS which you can then submit directly to MLC.

MLC is the wealth management division of the National Australia Bank (NAB), and has recently been joined by Aviva. MLC provides investment, superannuation, insurance and private wealth solutions to corporate and institutional customers. In addition to this MLC maintains an extensive financial planning network including NAB Financial Planning, Godfrey Pembroke, Garvan Financial Planning, MLC Financial Planning and Apogee Financial Planning. MLC manages more than $75 billion on behalf of individual investors and corporate customers in Australia (as at June 2009).

Investment Style

MLC uses a 'manager of managers' investment approach. This means MLC does not directly manage investment funds. Instead, MLC’s multi-manager options combine the expertise of up to 32 leading investment managers from around the world. This approach gives investors access to a combination of individually selected investment managers providing diversity across asset classes, within asset classes and across investment styles. The aim is to provide greater consistency of performance in variable market conditions compared to a single manager and significantly reduce risk without compromising the overall return. MLC is the third largest multi-manager in the world, with 8% of the world market share (Cerulli Associates - Cerulli Quantitative Update: Global Multi-manager Products 2008).

MLC holds the number one position for personal insurance annual inforce premiums with 14.4% market share (source: DEXX&R Life Analysis as at December 2008) and is the second largest provider of superannuation in Australia with 15.7% market share (source: Plan for Life Quarterly Data System as at March 2009).

MLC licenses around 1,400 self-employed aligned and salaried advisers in Australia and holds relationships with more than 3,000 independently owned and licensed advisers who choose MLC’s financial solutions to meet the needs of their clients.

For a more hands on approach, the "Sector Choice" Menu enables investors to be more active in constructing their investment portfolio, with specific market sector investment options, managed by both MLC super and other leading fund managers.

1. Determine your eligibility to commence a pension

3. Determine the amount and frequency of your regular payments

5. Make your application and send to MLC to be set up
