BT Financial Group is the wealth management arm of the Westpac Group.  It has been in operation in Australia since 1969 and consists of a range of well known financial service brands in the areas of insurance, superannuation, investment management, platform administration, private banking and financial advice. 

Recent Changes: The BT business was merged with the wealth management of St.George in December 2008, following the takeover of that bank by Westpac. Since this merger the business has been separated into the following sections:

Advice & Private Banking comprises their financial planning businesses Magnitude, Securitor, St.George Financial Planning and Westpac Financial Planning, as well as it's private banking businesses St.George Private Clients and Westpac Private Bank.

Superannuation & Investment Solutions comprises their superannuation, administration platforms, investments and institutional businesses. This business segment is also responsible for BT’s core marketing, brand and communications functions.

BT Insurance brings together its Life Insurance, General Insurance, Lenders Mortgage Insurance and Group Insurance businesses

BT Investment Management (BTIM) is an investment management company that is listed on the Australian Stock Exchange and manages over A$35.3 billion (30 September 2008) for investors. BTIM is majority owned by the Westpac Group.

BT has received numerous awards and industry recognition for their fund performance, product range and customer service including the following accolades in Money Magazine’s Best of the Best Awards for 2008:

Gold Winner - Best Cash Management Trust – BT Premium Cash Fund (3rd consecutive year)
Gold Winner - Best Australian Share Funds – BT Australian Share Fund (2nd consecutive year)
Silver Winner - Best Smaller Companies Funds
